Day of Infamy-December 7, 1941, on which Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, bringing the United States into World War II: so referred to by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in his speech to Congress the next day, asking for a declaration of war on Japan.
The Concert
I think that we played okay. Not our greatest because the gym was cold and the sound was very spread out, but I liked how fun Ms. Chase tried to make it. She asked to get the parents involved and they were pretty bad at getting the right answer, but they got into it and got better as time went on. I know that we will sound much better when the spring concert comes around and we are all together. I think that we will sound even better because some of us are going on the trip to New Orleans and we get to play with a different conductor and they might have some new ideas and input to it. I messed up in Shanandoa because I came in one measure before I was suppose to because Rhys had started and it messed me up. But that's okay because it was a soft part and you didn't really hear us and was just one measure. Ms., Chase probably heard and knew that we started early and had to get us back on track. But I think At Dawn was very bad. Everyone was shocked when we had to play it, but Ms. Chase has to throw in some curve ball for us sometimes and that was a big one. It sounded bad because we had never really practiced it.
